Synlait Milk Ltd is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Dairy Farm Assistant to support daily farm operations on a large-scale dairy farm milking approximately 850 cows. You’ll work alongside an experienced Operations Manager and a professional farming team focused on sustainability, productivity, and animal welfare.
This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about agriculture, enjoy practical outdoor work, and want to grow within New Zealand’s dairy farming industry.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
As a Dairy Farm Assistant, your duties will include:
- Assisting with daily dairy farm operations
- Supporting hygienic and efficient milking routines
- Monitoring animal health and welfare
- Feeding stock and caring for young animals
- Supporting seasonal feed changes during lactation
- Helping achieve production and profitability targets
- Maintaining a safe and positive work environment
- Working closely with the Farm Manager and wider farming team
🎯 Skills & Requirements

- 1–2 years of dairy farming or agricultural experience
